I checked the cinnamon, she has wig spots. I hope it's accurate. I remembered the lady said that they are both mature for breeding so that gives me some hope. One thing that confuses me is that the bird is somewhat tame. It makes me think it's young because flea market birds aren't usually very friendly.

But remember, it's a pied, so it does crazy things to things like pearls.

Your right. I just checked, the wing spot sexing will only work if the bird is a pearl. The whiteface cinnamon is not a pearl. I guess they will both be a surprise. I got the Pearl to put one foot on my hand. It took some time but overall it was very fast. Taming will be a breeze with him/her

She already wants me to scratch her head. She is only scared of fingers. I can come really close to her. I even made my finger act like a bird and try to chew stuff with her. I got her to step up fully on the back of my palm.

Actually, the wing spot sexing method doesn't work at all on pearls. The pearl mutation causes major disruption to the wing markings. The wing spot method CAN work on pieds, but only if the bird has enough grey feathers for you to see where the wing spots are located.

It might not work in pearls, but according to Sussane, it's a less reliable way to sex Pearl pieds.



I did sex the cinnamon pied. There was plenty of non pied feathers to see spots. I guess that means that I have at least 1 girl? Let's hope the Pearl is an incomplete pearl.
