I was just wondering. I know it sounds stupid.

It's not stupid, and yes I think they do have emotions. It might not correspond exactly to the way humans feel, but the way that birds behave shows that they have feelings like fear, anger, jealousy, happiness, and love.

I am going to say without a doubt yes. I think most animals have emotions, minus very small, primitive creatures like plankton or shrimp.

Birds are one of the most emotionally needy creatures on earth. They feel happiness and sing and want to be petted. They feel love and preen and regurgitate for you. They feel sadness. When JB died, Teak was broken without her. He died about 2 weeks after her. He refused to eat much and just sat there, but was even more clingy to me and climbed on their play tree where they used to play and just climbed all over it, never stopped looking for her. It was heart wrenching to watch. I'm all sad now.

I like to think Medusa had emotion too. Not great emotion like more intelligent creatures, but she had primitive emotions for sure. I doubt she was capable of love, but I loved her regardless.

Thank you everyone for informing me. My birds get jealous when I'm scratching one of the birds head. They usual fly to me hand thats giving head scratches and bite the birds head feathers. Then they get into a fight.

Isn't it sweet that they like you so much that they fight for your attention?

I haven't even thought about it that way. That's really sweet.
