They're all grown up now! Hard to believe that those adult-looking males are those same little chicks.

Thank you SO much guys!

Chipper, For some reason I only get one sex in the entire clutch. The clutch I had before these guys were all girls, even in those parents second clutch! I keep all my baby birds. I love the birds when they were babies because they are so stinkin friendly and I'm their parent. I can't give them away. And if I was to give them away, I wouldn't charge. I just want them to be happy and I don't trust anyone besides people that I know (like you guys) with my precious gems. :)

Do you keep all the birds together? How do you prevent parents and babies mating?
I would love to keep all my babies, and I am resistant to send them away but I guess I will have to because of this mating reason

Yes, I keep all my birds together. George is Marshmallows father and Marshmallow is the 3 boy's mom. George and Marshmallow mate and Levi wants to mate with Marshmallow. It's not bad because she doesn't lay eggs. It's also not a problem because I won't let the eggs hatch. My birds don't lay eggs in the aviary unless there is a nest.

so when you provide a nest, is it when you start separating them?
Are Griffin, Maya, Maple and Cloudia unrelated to this family?

I never bred by birds in the aviary. I only put in a nest box because Marshmallow was mating too much with George and I wanted them to give up on breeding. That technique worked very well. I bring my birds indoors when I want to breed them. It's much easier for me because the other birds won't try to steal their nest box.

Yes, everyone who isn't Tommy, Levi, Rio, Marshmallow, and George are not related. I'm planning on breeding Tommy and Cloudia so hopefully we'll have another branch in the family tree. :)
