What I did was I would just start letting him get used to being flipped over on his back. Gently. Most conures like to playfight and roll onto their backs doing that too.

Lay him gently on his back in your hand, and tickle him on his tummy.. If you start now he will be use to it... Very very gently for now cos' he is so young...
What the birds name?

Thanks guys. I didn't know I was supposed to start training now. I did it to him and he didn't freak out. He actually rested his head back. I will not train him after feelings though. I don't want him throwing up.
His name is Tango if he is a boy. If she is a girl then I don't know.

Nice name! I'd use it for either gender, but it's up to you of course.

Tango lovely name... can be for girl or boy.... start training him slowly now... it will so much better for you to begin while he is so young... yep not a good idea to turn him on his back when he has just eaten...LOL Once he is use to you tickling him on his tummy, you'll be able to play rougher once he is older.... Im jealous... wish I'd been able to have a parrot when I was young... he will be your friend for life now 25 years plus.....wonderful....

I wanted to name it Tango but it sounds a little boyish to be a girls name. I'll try to take some pics of him on his back today.

That is a nice name for a sunnie.
Hopefully he will be a cock so you don't have to worry about another name!

I really don't mind what sex he/she is. I am curious though on what he is. I might order a bird DNA sexing kit. I haven't ever used one though.

Might as well try it, conures look and act the same way regardless of sex, unlike cockatiels. I'm curious now myself.

I ordered a feather plucking bird DNA sex kit. They will send it to me for free. When do I have to pay?
