Since its been while since i had a new bird, especially one so young. (Be around 3 months when i bring it home). How do you guys go about the first day or so? I.mean dsy i bring it home will probably have hr settle in b4 bed since its 4hr drive. Do you ============== 1.Leave it in the cage for few days with out taking it out 2. Give it lots attention so it dont feel sad with out its siblings 3.just start with regular schedule 4.other

Once hes settled in he can be allowed out im sure you will know when hes settled in.I think caiques are lovely I love the way they hop around lol clowns of the parrot world.

I do 2.
Give you bird 30 minutes in cage to at least get a taste, but make the most comforting thing in its sight you. Think of it this way, if you handle the bird while it’s in an uncomfortable environment, you will become the most positive thing in its surroundings.

He's young so you're allowed to move quicker with adjustments than an older bird.

The bird's behavior will tell you what you can do. If he seems very nervous you should let him stay in the cage and get used to his new environment. If he's not so nervous you can talk to him and/or handle him for short periods of time, giving him lots of peaceful time in the cage between these sessions.
