So recently, Lucy has taken up this annoying habit with the smallest bowl in her cage. It's a little snack bowl that I put nutri-berries in. Well, what she likes to do is take it off the cage bars, try and hold it for a few seconds, before finally dropping it. The bowl is also fairly heavy for her and made of glass, so when it drops, it drops LOUDLY.

Sometimes she does it when there's something in it, sometimes she does it while it's empty. It's like she just thinks of it as a toy.

So this, along with other annoying habits of hers have earned her the nickname "Lucy-butt". I've called her this before, but she just keeps proving it to be more fitting.

She's having fun though, so I. Guess that's good? Sometimes I wonder if it's her life's mission to drive me insane though

Birds LOVE to throw things on the floor. At least you're not calling her "butt nugget" which is a name that my birds hear sometimes.

"Shut up Jaid, you ugly fart!!"

Seriously, I treat my boys like kings, but I can be rude to Jaid. He's my little bitey buddy though. :muchlove:

Quirky little tiel. She definitely lives up to her name to the fullest.

So true! My bird likes to push all my stuff off my desk, then stretches himself out to look at it on the floor.

Or just drop things in general. Today, she dropped a pellet into my tea.

And what gets me, is that she didn't plan on taking it out once it's all soggy. She just dropped it in there, and walked away!

She's actually been trying to do that for the past few days now actually. I wasn't paying attention this time, and caught her doing it at the corner of my eye.

Did she think it would taste better for me? Was she trying to get me to eat it? What made her think it was a good idea to put pellets in my tea?

Just... Why?

Some birds like to dunk stuff, although cockatiels aren't too big on doing it. Dweezil is a dunker.

Yeah, Dudley does it all the time too. Not sure if it makes the water taste better for him, or what, but he specifically likes to dunk things that dissolve or fall apart in water, and never touch them ever again.

Though I was expecting Lucy to dunk it, then take it back out once it softens.

But no. She drops it in there, then casually walks away, and never bothers with the coffee mug even, for the rest of that morning.

Who knew that in order to get her to leave my tea alone was to let her stick a pellet in it?
