So Lucy has a couple of feathers that look like they didn't quite grow out properly. I was originally going to plan on waiting until they molted out to examine them, but since that's taking a while, I thought I'd might as well take a couple of pictures and show you now.
The first one is mainly down fuzz, though the outer part its all curled up and messy looking. Luckily, she let me spread the surrounding feathers apart while she was preening.

The second one, she wasn't as tolerant of me taking pictures of, but I managed to one in. It looks closer to the regular feathers, but it's also folded in. I've tried straitening it out, but to no avail.

I als noticed that she never touches them while preening. It doesn't seem to hurt her when I touch them so I wonder why she leaves them alone. Something like these look like they might drive any bird crazy.
Anyone have any ideas as to why these feathers are like this? They're both on her chest, and seem almost parallel from each other (one on the left side and one on the right). Is it normal at all to have weird feathers like this?
