Still have this mouse problem only now they only come to my room every single day and they are multiplying fast I have seen a baby grow and get fatter now all I see are babies and they don't seem too scared to be close to me but of course if I made any movement it would scatter.Well lets just say I was up all night and purchased a book from iBooks its a app that you buy books from on Apple devices anyway I got a Parrot training book and care and a book for Psychics since I think I have Psychic abilities and I know my mam does and she is the one who healed Rocko when he was sick and was in and out of the vets and the next day she was very tired and always in bed and only last night I learned it was because in order to heal Rocko all her energy was taken.Well so the birds are all awake and Loki perched on her bowl eating veg when I hear a mouse running on a surface that sounds like paper so I look down and I see Loki's head looking down so I look her direction and see a baby mouse running around the cage and I got up and when I got to the cage it was gone. Now I think this has gone too far going into the cage.I want them gone we did catch 2 in mouse traps but they are multiplying fast.My mam told me to ask here if peppermint oil is safe to put in my bedroom as the smell drives mice out and its actually good for your breathing if your sick.I am gonna clean the cages today and it would be good to know if the peppermint oil is safe.

You must rid your home of these mice...
Peppermint oil wont harm your birds... mice will.
If your birds utensils get contaminated by the mice or your birds are bitten by them they will die...
Why hasn't your mum called in an exterminator?
This has been going on too LONG

If you can shield of your birds from this method it is very usefull:

Buy some plaster provide it in a dish covered with some amount of flower and/or powdersugar. Next to it provide a dish with water.
The mise (also works on rats) will eat the flower but will also have eaten some of the plaster. After this they will drink causing the plaster to swell up causing death.

Make sure your bird doesn't eat the plaster!!

It's not a good idea to use aromatic oils around birds. They have very sensitive respiratory systems and can die from breathing fumes that are safe for humans.

I'm not finding a lot of good alternatives to smelly stuff and traps on the internet. This article mentions an ultrasound device but I don't know what kind of effect it would have on birds: http://pestkill.org/mice/

That would mean they would die in some random place maybe inside the walls and will stink up the house.Do you know any other ways to even make them all leave the house because thats what the peppermint oil does.

If I took the birds out of my room and used to peppermint oil how long would I have to wait before putting them back in.I have searched about this and someone said they put a little bit of peppermint oil on cotton and it didn't harm the birds and she put this in her aviary where the mouse problem was.

There is a pest control business in Dublin, Ireland. It's called Effective Pest Control. Here are some images:

And these are some of the things they kill:

If you decide to give them a call, I would suggest you told them about your pet birds and if their treatment could be harmful to them.

This is their phone number: (086) 233 7727

And this is their page: http://www.effectivepestcontrol.ie

There's no animal control (aka "dog catcher") in Ireland? How would they get stray dogs off the streets?

Anyways, I suggest calling the Dublin pest control that Erik just posted there. Thats your best option so far.

If you take the birds out of the room and use peppermint oil, you can bring the birds back after the smell dissipates. But I don't know how long it would take to really get rid of the mice. If part of your house is peppermint-free they might just go to a different room for a while, then come back after the smell goes away. Even if you pepperminted your whole house they might not go very far, and could return after you stopped using the peppermint.
