So I couldn't sleep so im just lurking around the forums and I kept hearing the mouse so kept turning my flash light on my phone and looking at the cockatiels cage and other areas then later bam and squeaking I see the mouse caught in the trap I get out of bed only to see the mouse alive and his leg stuck in the trap.I feel so guilty he is struggling in pain he is there a good while now still alive and moving. He is trying to climb up the radiator but the trap doesn't fit up with him lol ok this isn't funny.A part of me feels like I should open the trap and let him go but then another part of me is saying no for my birds safety and he is definitely the last mouse and is the same baby.

Can't you go out of your house with the trap and open it at a safe distance?

There are a couple of alternatives here. If it looks like the leg isn't too badly damaged you can take him outside somewhere a long distance from your house and let him go. If it looks like the leg is too badly damaged to heal you can look for a gentle way to euthanize him. One way would be to wrap him tightly in a plastic bag so he can't get any air and suffocates. It won't be pleasant but it will be a lot faster and less painful for him than dying slowly in a trap.

Sometimes I go to the beach at 4am! :)

It once happened to me too by the way because I had been away for 3 months and when I came back there were mice AND rats because they had found food. I was soooooo terrified. There was nothing before I went away. Never leave food around if you plan to be away for a long time, even it is in sealed packages.
I did call pest control of course. What else could I do? I was so terrified I still remember every single image in my mind.
I remember that after pest control I still found a tiny mouse and I somehow managed to grab the baby by the tail and put it outside.

You need to do something, because it will be terrible for the mouse and for you too to just let it struggle for hours until it dies of the stress. If there are more then you may as well let this one go, because getting rid of this one mouse won't solve the whole problem. You can always hope that he's learned that your room is a dangerous place and won't come back to it.

If you do let him go, wear heavy gloves or something so he can't bite you. You don't want to end up needing rabies shots.
