It's around 5:30 pm and I am watching my budgies. It seems this is the time of day that they get pretty affectionate with each other. There is a definite difference between Piper's behavior and Winter's. I just think, if I didn't know the sex of these two birds and just looked at them, I could tell that they are a mated pair--even though they don't actually mate.
But, my two cockatiels, it's not that way. I don't know how much of that is that they haven't really bonded as a mated pair and how much is just that cockatiels have less marked behavior difference by sex.
When I first got the cockatiels, I thought they were such fantastic birds that the budgies went into the background. But this time of the evening, the cockatiels are basically sleepyheads, while the budgies get very entertaining to watch.

Budgies are great birds. VERY different personalities than a cockatiel, and very entertaining in their own way.

I'm glad they're giving you joy. On another note, how have you been feeling? I know it's winter and you don't feel well on winter times. Does it ever get too cold to swim over there?

We have about four inches. We were at the northern edge of the storm, so the worst passed us by.
