ok, so we had them tested, mango was a boy and munch was a girl.
but then ive had some odd incidents.
first, even though they are bonded, they bicker frequently.
that was an ongoing sign.
Mango started getting nippy
then mango started presenting himself to munch and allowing munch to mate with him.
then i caged them together. they mated with their swing at the same time instead of eachother, theres slight bickering.
mango may feed munch but he also begs munch to be fed.
since munch was going insane trying to find a nest so we gave a nest in the corner of the cage that she really liked. mango took more of an interest and was actively "building" the nest instead of munch.
mango also started getting broody in the nest, started hunkering down and "incubating" something. he still showed more interest in the nest.
mango started lunging and chasing like munch does
i put a covering over the nest so it was more enclosed and thats when munch took more of an interest in the nest.
however, i noticed mango has the start of an egg bum....
so mango is a GIRL!!! munch also has a slight egg bum, but mango was supposed to be a boy. i could still be wrong, but the vent is a little more swollen and mangos been having bigger poops.
this is what her vent looked like normally (so you can tell for comparison)

and now... pardon the mess, cant clean their mess as theyre nesting, dont want to stress them and cause egg binding

and broody mango

and going at the cuttlebone

what are the chances????
