I don't know why but it always makes me happy when the budgies choose to interact with me. Like, on their own free will. I don't force them to do anything actually, but still, it makes me happy to know that they still value me in some way and not as just their feeder. Beck still doesn't care for me as much as Poppy does, but sometimes I can put my face up to the cage and Poppy will lick and nibble on it and do that little budgie bop thing to it. It's actually very adorable that he can still find some trust in a predator. I don't really ever have much to say about the budgies, but every now and then they do have their moments.

Budgies are great little birds and I've always loved them. I'd like to have one right now but (a) I have too many birds already and (b) I'm afraid that a budgie might feel a little overwhelmed in a whole flock of bigger birds. At least Dweezil has the advantage of being bigger than the tiels.

I've 2 budgies.... semi tame.... but such characters...
Mine don't come near me and react to hand signals... they have each other for company and chatter in budgie talk all day long....
Bryni the one found in the wild, started to talk when he shared a cage with Zippi (Tiel who died) but has since lost all talk since...
I luv budgies... I guess they are a noisy little bird but so cute....

Do budgies usually like to interact with people less than cockatiels do?

My budgies were always very interactive, but I only had one bird at a time in those days so I was their main outlet for companionship.
