You got the BCC you always wanted?!?!? Tell us all about it!

That is seriously a 4 year story. I'll spare you of most of the detail. To sum it up briefly, a bird store here had 2 blue crown chicks. Lots of back and forth. The price was very off putting, so again, lots of back and forth. Then I just thought screw it, I might as well at least go look. When I first got there, they were in a bin. They were both really skittish. I finally got one on my hand. Couldn't get the other one. An employee told me that the tamer of the 2 was already sold. The flighty one wasn't. I stood over the bin probably for a total of 20 minutes. Another employees told me that if I take it away from the bin, it should warm up to me. I wanted to give this bird every possible chance, so I finally got him and walked over to a bench with him. He sat on my arm for a while, then started to explore my legs and climbed up to my shoulder. Eventually, I felt him nuzzle into my neck and start beak grinding. That was kind of my selling point.
So, he's just a shy bird that needs to warm up to you. He's placed a lot of trust in me the 1 day I've had him (not sure of the sex). I have his cage in my room so he can get used to me. Let me tell you, that bird is calm. Very calm. And curious. Yesterday he stayed on his new cage. I was speaking to a friend on the phone yesterday while lying on my bed. Guess who fluttered over on his own? The first time he chose to interact with me on his own free will! He chewed on my cell phone and crawled on me. This morning as I write his, he's biting my hand (he's at beaky stage right now; he doesn't know his own strength yet). I do believe he trusts me. I'm working on his step ups currently. He's not scared of me whatsoever, he just doesn't understand what I'm asking. He's starting to understand though. He's done it 3 times so far. Once he can step up and go back in his cage, I can move him into the greenroom.
