Miss me? I had a lot going on. Yes, all of my birds are doing well. Jaid turned 5 and Danny is 1. They got a really neat manzanita like playstand, which I like a lot. And while Jaid and Danny were both clipped (Danny when bought and Jaid because he was a brat when hormonal) are both growing their wings out, Danny took his first fly earlier this week. From his cage clear across the room. Hasn't tried it again since, but he's always been shy. His vocabulary blossomed. I should have to make a list of everything he can say. I never intentionally teach him things, he picks it up on his own and uses it in context. Unfortunately, he picked up on my vocal tone which is horribly monotone, so my parrot matches I guess. Him and Jaid are buddies. They get along great. I've always ended up having good luck with different species liking each other.
Anyway, about the title, no, they did not die. I actually rehomed them. I always danced around the idea of it for a few years but I actually did it. I found a very nice lady with a big aviary in the countryside and lots of other birds. I made sure that I was 100% confident that they needed to go to a big aviary with other budgies. Now they live in a nice rural town about 10 minutes from me with 12 other budgies and 3 cockatiels. I do not regret my decision at all, because that's what they needed. So now, it's just Jaid and Danny, and I'm perfectly fine with that.
Goodbye guys, enjoy retirement.
