Marshmallow laid an egg on Wednesday, today is Friday 5:04PM and she still didn't lay an egg! She is sleeping more today but she doesn't seem in pain. I really don't want to loose her. I feel like taking her to my room and spend her last days with her.
She is 14 months old and she is laying her 3rd clutch.
If this egg comes out soft shelled, what should I do? I told my mom that there is a chance she might die if she doesn't lay an egg today but she says it's fine and she will lay it at night. Her last egg was laid in the afternoon, so I am expecting her eggs to be laid in the afternoon.
What can I do to give her more calcium? She has a cuddle bone right next to her nest and she gets lots of sunshine.
Update: she just went in the nest and looks more protective, I hope this means that she is going to lay one soon. I don't want her to get a prolapse!
Any foods high in calcium that I should feed her?

Baruch! Calm down! it will be ok! Gracie didn't lay for 3 days straight, and I was getting worried. but everything tuned out to be fine. in know your worried about her, and I understand that she shouldn't be laying this many eggs in this short amount of time, especially since she is so young. does she look sick? Can you see a egg a bump? Some foods rich in calcium...let me think. Well, safe for birds there is....pretty much any dark green leafy vegetables are great. If she keeps declining, well, I don't if id even do this. I don't know what tielfan thinks about it. I will be checking the forum frequently to wait for your response.

It was outdated by 4 birds. I feel like it would be better to not have a signature because my flock number changes so fast.

I make these for the heck of it, I have at least 10 under my sleeve for this forum alone. The one below is my generic one. It's no problem, and I certainly don't mind making new ones.

Marshmallow may be OK on calcium since she basically lives outdoors. The vitamin D from sunlight helps a LOT with calcium absorption. If you're concerned you can get some liquid calcium for birds, like this brand for example: http://www.internationalcockatielresour ... -eggs.html If you ever have an egg binding emergency, a drop of liquid calcium in the hen's beak will sometimes give her the boost she needs to push the egg out. The time between eggs can vary. It would be nice if the slowdown in egg production was because her hormone level is dropping and she's losing interest in breeding, but you're probably not that lucky lol. It's helpful to candle the egg to check the shell quality, and Susanne's article at http://www.internationalcockatielresour ... -eggs.html has information on what a poor-quality shell looks like. Since this egg has already been broken it's probably too late to candle it (it won't look the same with nothing inside), but you can look at the broken edges to see if they have a nice thickness or are extremely thin and fragile.

I have noticed that the outside of the egg looks very different (color wise) it'd like it's very transparent on some parts of it. She will lay an egg today, and I won't crack it or throw it in the garbage before I fully examine the egg.
I'll post photos once I get the egg.

Thank you Bluekeet! That's very nice of you to offer but it's really okay. I'm not in need of a signature now, it would probably feel weird without Bio in it.
