Silver has been with me just about three months. Sunday (three days ago) he started whistling different notes. In the last three days he has started singing a lot, using different notes.

I am amazed at how quickly the singing (whistling) is taking off.

Also, I have to say I can hardly stand how cute it is!!!! It just makes me want to smile all over.

That's wonderful! Is he a young bird who's just starting to mature, or is he finally getting comfortable enough in his new home to start singing? Cockatiels can take a few months to really settle in.

I remember when Jaid learned the sexy whistle. I thought it was very exciting. He now knows how to whistle laugh (laughs out a whistle... it's hard to explain) and whistle my contact call. Just wait until Sliver learns more. They're so smart.

Silver is now about five months old. He's been with me for about three months. When I got him on my finger at the bird store, something said "boy." Looks like I may have been right.
