We actually split they're cage [top to bottom] (budgie is now in the tops and tiel is in the bottom) - so they can't see each other unless we put their cage on the table in front of the large living room mirror.
I let them out together this evening, and the tiel climbed into the budgie's half and the budgie got excited.
They're mostly fine when they're outside of the cage together, but it really was awful inside.
She actually ended up chasing him out later and yanked some feathers off his back in the process.
It's confusing for me and a little frustrating, because they seem to enjoy each other's company, but the budgie can be terrible toward the tiel.
And I have another concern too. The tiel's droppings, I've noticed, are very tiny. As in, about the same size as the budgie's. This isn't normal for a tiel, is it? Missy's droppings are much larger.
