It's 9:45PM right now. The baby did not eat well. I put a little formula on the side of his beak and he was forced to eat it. I really hope he will get at least a little better tomorrow morning. He drank a sip on my hand and inside the cage. That's a good sign since he is learning how to satisfy his needs. I put a nightlight so he won't have a nightfright. I have to figure out a way to get him to eat a lot of food by tomorrow. I don't want to loose him. Loosing a bird is very tough for me. I don't want him to die, not now, not like this. I'm not letting go.

It's good that you got some food into him. It will help keep up his strength, and hopefully there's nothing wrong with him beyond feeling too sore to do anything right now.

When a bird isn't feeling well it helps to keep him warm. You can cover one end of the cage with a towel and shine a lamp on it so the heat enters the cage on that side, or put a heating pad under one side of the cage. Most heating pads have an automatic shutoff so watch out for that. You only heat one side of the cage so he can move if he gets too warm.

Thank you. Tommy has dried blood on his wounds. Will cleaning it help or will it just open the cut causing it to bleed all over again? I am researching to find ways to help heal a wound faster.

If the dried blood isn't causing any problems I'd just leave it alone. It isn't worth the risk of reopening the wound just to make him look nicer. If is IS causing problems you could wash it very carefully. You found the injury in the morning and it's late at night now, so there's been enough time for scabs to form solidly.

If Tommy isn't drinking syringe a little
water into his beak.
Make the bird formula very sloppy... this can then be syringed into his beak also...
Just give him TLC... I hope he is a lot better today.

He still isn't eating. He has skin on his beak. I don't know how to explain it. A vet trip is nessasary. But I doubt my parents would take him even though I would pay.

I'm sorry. Don't be discouraged and keep giving him fluids and formula as much as you can. I think he will get better.
Good wishes.

Is there any other family member who could take you to the vet, like your grandfather?

If you can post a picture of the beak we'll try to figure out what's going on.

Try to get a little food into him once an hour to help keep up his strength. As Jan said, make sure he gets fluids too. You can use the electrolyte solution to mix the handfeeding formula. It can make a big difference in the energy level of weakened birds.
