I notice most of my progress is with Poppy, since he's more curious in me then Specky, but I'm making small progress with Beck too. Take yesterday, when he nibbled millet spray from me. That's pretty big for him.

And then today, Poppy gets stuck on his cage door because the cage door is held open in an odd position, and he can't figure out how to get back in, because he always finds himself stuck and confused with the door. It's hard to explain, but I'll see if I can get a picture later so you know what I am talking about. Anyway, I had the budgies out and Beck went in the door and Poppy was left confused again. But it was getting late and the cat wanted in, so I had to try and get Poppy in, because he about gave up and lied down to go to sleep. It took 20 minutes and some creative thinking, but we managed to work through it. I touched where I wanted him to go. I did that several times before he understood, because he was tired and unfocused. But he managed to follow my non-verbal instructions. It's amazing how 2 different species can communicate like that.

Nice work! Nonverbal instructions are actually what you need when you're training birds, since they don't understand what we say. Nonverbal communication is VERY hard for us humans to grasp.

They are really cute. I love Beck's wing. It's so fluffy.

That's them after their bad night fright. They have little to no flight feathers on their wings. One good thing that came out of that is they are exploring other areas instead of just sitting on a cage.
