I do hope everything gets sorted out for you...
You need time for other things besides school...
Your birds are a good interest for you..
Mums can be a little over the top sometimes...
Have you tried writing down how you feel and giving
it too our mum?
You both need to talk quietly and with no interruptions....

Maybe later today you can tell her that you're sorry you blew up, but this school is making your life miserable and you think you'll be a lot happier in a different school. Maybe you'll learn more there too because you won't be so stressed out and unhappy.

If she agrees, you'll have a responsibility to do well in public school to show her that she made the right decision and she can trust you to hold up your end of the bargain. That will probably be a lot easier than what you're doing right now. School is going to be kind of tedious no matter where you are, but do what you can to get the most out of it. Maybe do a little "extra credit" reading with books or the internet on the subjects that interest you the most, and make sure your mom knows you're doing it. Instead of food bribery for birds it's education bribery for parents lol.

In the US, public schools are the schools operated by the government that most kids go to. There's no charge for attending. Private schools are NOT operated by the government and there's usually a hefty tuition fee.

The terminology has a different meaning in some countries though. A school that we would call a private school is called a public school. I don't know what the government schools are called.

The quality of US public schools varies a lot. Some are dreadful and others are excellent. A lot depends on the area that the school serves. A lot of the school's funding comes from real estate taxes in the local district, and a school in an expensive neighborhood will have more funding from this source than a school in a poor neighborhood. The richer parents also tend to be more educated themselves and more interested in their children's education than the poorer parents, and that has a big influence on the kids' motivation to do well in school.

Yes that's the same in Europe and in most of the world, public school is free and government funded.
But UK and probably a few other commonwealth countries use the term public school meaning the type of school where you pay etc.

I had a miserable day yesterday :(

Ever since I went to high school, my life went upside down. I used to be very happy and cheerful in my middle school days but now I. Am a mess. I have emotional breakdowns and I run to the bathroom and cry there sat least twice a week, yes, boys do cry (at least I do) I have a psychologist that pulls me out of my class every Tuesday and we talk but I don't tell him anything that I keep inside. I go to a religious school which means that I have way more subjects than a normal person and that means that if I get one F in those classes, I won't get my diploma. And I got a 26 on of those classes which made me so upset yesterday, my teacher said that I had to get it signed by my parents but I got to scared to
After my school finished my mom picked me up from school and she noticed that I was sad so she asked me what happened, and I just started to cry (it was my 3rd time crying on the same day)

I was thinking of suicide yesterday, but the only think that held me back were my birds, I thought "if I died, who would feed my birds and who would take care of them"

Well, now you know my life...

I'm sorry that you're having such a rough time, and something needs to be done about it. There isn't an education program in the world that makes it worthwhile to drive a kid to thoughts of suicide. The teenage years are extra rough anyway because of all the changes your mind and body are going through, and all this unnecessary stress isn't good for you.

You need to get help from a sympathetic adult in your real-world life, so you need to be brave and tell them about it. If you can't talk to your mother (who seems to be the most direct cause of the problem) then talk to your father and/or the psychologist. These are all adults whose job it is to help steer you safely to a happy, productive adulthood, and they need your input to help them do the job right.

If you start to get recurring suicidal thoughts and the adults in your life can't or won't help you, then reach out to someone who can. We'll do what we can to help here on the board but we aren't trained for this sort of thing. Google for suicide hotline and you'll find people you can talk to who actually know what they're doing.

I'm sure that your current school would teach you a lot more facts than a less demanding school would. But there are more facts in the world than any one person can learn, and a lot of them are facts that we don't actually need.

The best thing a school can do for you is teach you how to do your own research and logically analyze the facts to find the answer to a question. You need to have a good basic knowledge for this, but you don't have to have every fact in the world stored in your head. If you have this capability you can identify and find the information that you actually need and the facts that interest you. Most of us can get through life just fine without knowing the history of the Peloponnesian war. If you're one of the rare people who needs this information for your job, or if you think it's a cool subject, you'll learn about it. There's no practical reason that you need to learn about obscure subjects in high school.

Albert Einstein didn't bother to learn his own telephone number because it was easy to look it up in the phone book, and he was using his brain for more important things. Here's a link that you can show people who think you need to stuff your head full of facts: https://sites.google.com/site/philledwa ... ritequotes

Not every high school teaches students to use their own thought processes though. Some of them just feed you a bunch of facts and think they've done their job if you can give those same facts back to them on a test. If your current school is teaching you to think and analyze, take advantage of that opportunity as much as you can while you're still there. If it's basically a fact-cramming place, there's a lot of opportunity for thinking and analyzing with birds and bird forums, so your hobby might give you something that your school doesn't.

Thank you! I'm going to tell my psychologist tomorrow. What I'm worried about is that at out first time meeting, he said he won't tell anyone our conversation unless it's about suicide or cutting, so I'm worried that he'll tell my parents.
